White pine has been used medicinally for its antiseptic and healing qualities, and magically for healing, purification, and longevity. I grew up with these trees in our yard, and love the smell of pine needles. As they drop to the ground they create a soft blanket, rich in nutrients where mushrooms and other things can grow. If you're feeling a lot of pent up energy, I recommend sitting under a group of pines to ground and refocus. The wind through the branches, the smell of the resin and needles, and the softness of the pine duff create a very calming environment. Pine reminds us to root, quiet our minds, and be engaged with our environment.
