Water carves, pools, and curves back on itself. In Agate River, that motion is captured in layers of hand-cut and painted papers, scanned and woven together to create an abstract landscape that draws you in.
The “river” at the center of this piece takes its shape from the banded cross-section of agate: deep cobalt and violet, edged in gold, curving through warm, scattered autumn fragments of ochre and burnt sienna.
This work is part of a small series of digital collages exploring a love of natural forms and spaces along with the intricacies of hand-altered paper.
