There is a particular moment in the evening when the light hasn’t quite left but the moon is already there, present in two worlds at once. Moon in the Pines captures that threshold, splitting the composition between the cool, botanical darkness of dusk and the open warmth of moonrise.

On the left, a deep navy ground holds silhouetted pines and a richly layered tangle of flowers and foliage. On the right, the same forest opens up, illuminated by the moon in warm golden hues and rust-colored accents. Each element was hand-painted and cut from paper, then digitally collaged to form this quietly layered scene.
