Whether you're just beginning to read tarot or you've been working with the cards for years, it's worth revisiting your reading habits from time to time. Small changes in how we approach the cards can deepen our understanding and strengthen our intuition.
Here are four practices I return to again and again when reading tarot.

Resisting the clarifying card is still a struggle for me sometimes. But when I give in to pulling just one more card, I start to lose the underlying message of the reading. Especially if I begin pulling multiple extra cards, things start to feel very cluttered and muddy. So I try to sit with whatever initial cards I drew, even if I'm unsure at that moment how they resonate.
Which of these practices do you already use? Is there one you'd like to try during your next reading? Let me know in a comment - I'd love to hear!
And, if you're looking for a way to put these ideas into practice, try The Garden Check-In tarot spread. It's a simple three-card tarot spread for reflecting on the first half of the year.
